Dan Crenshaw has become kind of an odd figure in the Republican party. He has a heroic background, serving as a Navy Seal and losing his eye while serving the country. But he also gets into petty Twitter feuds and makes ridiculous campaign videos. And the Texas Rep. has drawn the ire of some Republicans by going after colleagues like Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Last night, Crenshaw spoke to a Tea Party Group about his new book, Fortitude. When a young girl pressed him on one of his passages, however, he reacted angrily, drawing boos from the crowd.
The 10 year-old quoted from Crenshaw’s book, “The most important thing here is that we have important hero archetypes that we look up to. Jesus is a hero archetype, Superman is a hero archetype. Real characters too, I could name a thousand, Rosa Parks and Ronald Reagan too.” She then continued, “I can’t wrap my head around this.”
The civility obsessed Republican responded to the child, “I’ll help you, put a period after the word Jesus and don’t question my faith.”
The answer led to jeering from the crowd with one participant calling him a moron. Check out a clip of the incident below, courtesy of Meidas Touch:
