[WATCH/COMMENTARY] Trump Fights Release of Jan 6th Records

The Biden White House on Friday formally blocked an attempt by former Donald Trump to withhold documents from Congress related to the January 6th attack on the Capitol, and the Trump camp is big mad about it.

As we previously reported, Trump is doing everything he can to prevent anyone from his former White House staff to comply with the subpoenas they’ve received from the January 6th Select Committee, including petitioning his successor to grant him the executive privilege to keep his records about his insurrection secret, and Joe Biden laughed in President and then said no.

Despite his constant bragging of being “the most honest and transparent person in history”, Trump spends a lot of time hiding things from everyone. From his taxes to his conversations with Vladimir Putin, there is still so much the country doesn’t know about his time in the White House. If you’ve got nothing to hide, why are you hiding so much?

Democrats are seriously lagging behind in the quest for Republican accountability. Nine months after the largest domestic terrorist attack on our soil, only a handful of Trump supporters are in prison, and the remaining Trump loyalists have also ducked any consequences. If the Select Committee is indeed enforcing the subpoenas, we can anticipate a huge fight once they finally summon Trump and his adult children.

Trump’s obstruction was a hot topic of discussion on Monday’s edition of “Morning Joe”. Watch the discussion regarding the denial of executive privilege and play “Spot the Schadenfreude” with Mika and Joe, below.
