WATCH: Claire McCaskill Rips GOP Rep. Nancy Mace For Different COVID Takes on Fox and CNN
Nancy Mace, a Republican congresswoman from South Carolina is a bit of a moderate. She supports LGBT rights and marijuana legalization. She was comfortable speaking out against Donald Trump and voted to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of court.
But Mace also knows that when she’s on Fox News, she has to speak the far-right language. So over the weekend, the Rep. had drastically different appearances on Fox and CNN. MSNBC’s Claire McCaskill called her out for it on Monday night.
The former Missouri senator told Nicolle Wallace, “She goes on Fox News and says, oh, ‘natural immunity, we have natural immunity,’ and then she goes on CNN and says, I’m all for vaccines. I mean, what a political hack, with no soul.”
McCaskill continued:
“She’s saying different things depending on which audience she’s speaking to. That kind of irresponsibility is getting people killed. And that’s what I cannot understand, how this party can be righteously indignant about ‘life’ and then be a party that is anxious to throw away science when it can save your life.”
The host weighed in, “I have lost the plot on the right’s approach to their own base. The people that are going to die are their voters and their viewers. What is going on?”
