Now that Fox News only exists to spread pro-MAGA propaganda (“We have an audience to cater to!” huffed Laura “Eva Braun” Ingraham), why should they bother joining in the essentially blanket coverage of Thursday night’s prime time opening hearing for the January 6th House Select Committee? We already know the truth is anathema to the Fox lineup, and even more so to their viewing audience, who probably doesn’t know what “anathema” means, but might think is what you take next after algebra.
Fox “News” is the TV version of your parents telling you Disneyland was closed and taking you to some low-rent amusement park with rusty rides and off-brand cartoon characters walking around instead. And then when you found out Disneyland wasn’t closed, your parents told you it was full of diseased Communists. I don’t know, it’s been a rough few weeks and I’m running out of cool analogies to show how awful the GOP is and how Fox News is complicit in helping them fling Trump’s loaded diaper all over the country.
But we know Fox is never going to tell the truth about Trump, at least not while he’s still alive and can call in to yell at them. So they have to scramble and find some other way to distract the die-hards from literally the rest of all of TV Thursday night, because they can’t show the same truths all the other channels are showing. It’s kind of weird to me that if 99% of the news channels in the country are showing the same thing but there’s an outlier not participating, the reasons have got to be really self-serving. Rumor has it SCOTUS is going to conveniently end abortion so no one will care about the hearings, but people care plenty about January 6th, and will prove it by not watching Fox News talking about another migrant caravan or Hunter Biden or whatever.
Fox News won't air the January 6 hearings because they prefer their sedition made fresh on-site.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes gave Fox News the what-for, calling them out for the basic truth that they hate the basic truth. “Trump has what Nixon and Joe McCarthy did not: A major news network that will run interference for him in real-time. And Fox has apparently decided that the best way to shield Trump from the embarrassing truth the January 6th committee will reveal in its hearings is to simply not cover them at all.” You know, because the TV’s at Mar-A-Lago don’t get any other channels. That seems right.
