[WATCH] Chris Hayes Asks, ‘Where Are the Consequences for Trump Enablers?’

If the Trump administration was good for anything other than sowing chaos and leaving a massive body count in its wake, it was for perfectly illustrating how much of politics in Washington is held together by alliances and tradition (it also exposed how easy it is to get people to show their true selves if given permission.
For all the talk of “guardrails” and “adults in the room,” TFG and his most loyal enablers showed the country time and time again that laws only matter when enough people agree to accept that they exist in the first place. The best way to get away with all sorts of crimes, it turns out, is to simply do them and act like it’s fine. Trump lives by the “seek no real forgiveness later” credo while never asking for any permission in the first place. The man has never apologized for anything in his life.

Accountability doesn’t seem to be a thing in the Republican Party, yet they expect it from the Democrats. Despite being out of office for coming up on a full year, Trump is still flexing his hold over the party for his own personal gain, this time by allegedly instructing his nearest and not-so-dearest to defy congressional subpoenas issued by the House Select Committee to investigate the January 6th insurrection attempt on the U.S. Capitol.
If the Trump aides ignore their subpoenas, lock their asses up. That's what would happen to you or me. Why are they above the law?#LockThemAllUp

Dan Bongino is currently in hiding somewhere he can’t be found, so he can’t be served. Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson (D), chair of the Select Committee, already has a passive plan in place: “We’ll do criminal referrals and let that process work out.”

The frustration felt by liberals who’ve been watching Trump and his MAGA lackeys walk all over the Democratic process is palpable. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes gave voice to that frustration on his show Tuesday night. Hayes seems to be speaking for a lot of Americans when he sputters incredulously, “Where are the consequences?” for anyone in Trump World?
