WATCH: Chris Cuomo Says Police Reform Will Only Happen When White Children Are Killed
A visibly Chris Cuomo addressed the topic of police reform on his Friday night show saying it won’t happen unless white children are being killed.
This week saw the continuation of the Derek Chauvin murder trial. And this week has also seen a number of police shootings, some involving children. Not surprisingly, channels like Fox News have worked on demonizing the victims of these events.
Calls for police reform have grown in the midst of all these officer involved shootings. There seems to be little interest from the GOP, however, in passing any legislation involving gun control or police reform. Chris Cuomo talked about the issue on Friday.
He began by saying police reform will happen when, “Your kids start getting killed, white people’s kids start getting killed. Shootings, gun laws, access to weapons. Oh, I know when they’ll change. Your kids start getting killed, white people’s kids start getting killed.”
The CNN host continued by asking, “Take the time to consider if there is anything resembling an ‘us’ anymore. Does anyone see America the way you want her to be? Do any of you see a people with a purpose that resembles anything like the dream?”

“There’s never a solution that doesn’t begin with ‘we,’ ’We, the people.’” he says. “…All we have is the interconnectedness and interdependence. If you give up on each other, that’s it.” pic.twitter.com/j4GrM5uRfd
