A few weeks back, Elon Musk attempted to join the board at Twitter. The attempt fell through and Musk responded by putting in a bid to buy the website outright. And on Monday, that bid was accepted by the social media giant.
Those on the Right have immediately assumed that Musk will be on their side. They may be right. During a Monday podcast, Charlie Kirk boasted that Conservatives now have the “coolest person alive” as their ally.
The Turning Point founder told his listeners, “Of course, it’s not ideal, but it’s necessary right now. It’s all we have. The tweets coming out against Elon Musk is just laughable. They’re – leaving Twitter is trending on Twitter. Good. Go build your own.”
“I mean, the left, they’re so stupid not because we’ve earned it, not because we deserve it. But just because we’re not – then the American right is now inheriting Elon Musk to kind just be an ally. A good job, you just lost, like, the coolest most interesting person alive. Whether you like him or not, again I have a mixed opinion on some of the stuff he does, but he’s certainly not boring.”
