Dave Chappelle’s willingness to take on important social issues has made him one of the country’s great comics. There is no topic out of bounds for the former television star.
On Thursday night, Chappelle debuted a new comedy special in response to the current George Floyd protests. In the set, called 8:46, the comic went in on the media, saving much of his vitriol for Conservative pundits Candace Owens and Laura Ingraham.
Chappelle pointed out the hypocrisy of Ingraham who has slammed basketball player LeBron James for being politically active, but gave white Saints quarterback Drew Brees a pass. The comic said of the Fox News anchor, “[she’s just] a regular-ass white bitch with a platform.”
The comic was also highly critical of Conservative YouTuber Candace Owens. Owens made waves last week by criticizing murder victim George Floyd and saying that he’s, “not her martyr.”
“I seen Candace Owens try to convince white America, ‘Don’t worry about it. He’s a criminal anyway,” said Chappelle. “I don’t give a f— what this n— did. I don’t care what this n— did. I don’t care if he personally kicked Candace Owens in her stanky p—. I don’t know if it stanks, but I imagine it does.”
The comic continued, “Candace Owen, that rotten b*tch, she’s the worst. I can’t think of a worse way to make money. She’s the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f*cking life.”
