Kerry Washington, who played political fixer Olivia Pope on "Scandal," has been one of the most prominent celebrities lending her star power to the Harris/Walz campaign. Aside from speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August--where she was reunited with her "President Fitz," Tony Goldwyn--Washington has been out on the road in key battleground states to speak with voters about the importance of electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker welcomed Washington on Saturday along with a couple of other actors you may have heard of--Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro, old friends and former co-stars who have each endorsed Vice President Harris.
"What we're doing here today -- not as actors or entertainers -- we're Americans, we love democracy," Washington said.
DiCaprio, a longtime environmental activist and philanthropist, shared his official endorsement of the VP ahead of his appearance in Philly, arguing that her opponent Donald Trump “continues to deny the facts” and “deny the science” around climate change.
"We need leaders who are equipped to enact climate policies that will help save the planet, and that’s why I’m casting my vote for Kamala Harris on November 5," DiCaprio wrote on Instagram. "She has helped lead the most significant climate action in U.S. history, and under her leadership, we will be able to accomplish ambitious goals on climate policy that will move our country forward."
DeNiro has long been an outspoken critic of Trump and never minces his (NSFW) words when it comes to his extreme dislike of the Donald.
