WATCH: Ben Shapiro Says A SCOTUS “Worth Its Salt” Would Overturn Marriage Equality

There are a lot of right-wing extremists who are really happy with the United States Supreme Court right now. Ben Shapiro, however, is among those who still isn’t satisfied.

In a rant on his DailyWire show, Shapiro got overwrought and tripped over his own words as he complained about activists who warn that if the Supreme Court is willing to overturn a precedent as longstanding as Roe v. Wade, they might as easily come after other precedents, including Obergefell v. Hodges (which ruled that outlawing same-sex marriage is unConstitutionally discriminatory) and Loving v. Virginia (which stated the same about laws forbidding interracial marriage).
Ben’s position is that the court will not attack these other longstanding rights, but that in some cases — particularly marriage equality — it actually should do so.

“Wrong Constitutional clause, ya morons! And then they try to claim, oh well they might overturn Obergefell. Well first of all, Obergefell is a bad Supreme Court decision, and if we had a Supreme Court worth its salt, they would overturn Obergefell! But they’re not going to!”
He goes on to assert that “Democrats know…that the abortion issue is not a winner, so they’re trying to expand it out and say you never know, they might go after gay rights, they might go after — mm-hmm. Sure. You’re right. The sitting Supreme Court in which Neal Gorsuch idiotically ruled that the Civil Rights act of 1964 covers [here poor Ben wrinkles his nose as though the very idea is painful to him] transgender people is now going to overrule Obergefell, mm-hmm, I’m sure.”
