WATCH: Ben Sasse Slams Fellow Republicans Gaetz, MTG: “They’re Not Serious Adults”

Ben Sasse is one of the country’s few Republican lawmakers willing to openly speak his mind. While his politics remain very Conservative, he was a vocal critic of Donald Trump. And he voted to impeach Trump back in January.

WASHINGTON, DC – OCTOBER 15: U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) looks on during the fourth day of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill on October 15, 2020 in Washington, DC. With less than a month until the presidential election, President Donald Trump tapped Amy Coney Barrett to be his third Supreme Court nominee in just four years. If confirmed, Barrett would replace the late Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. (Photo by Kevin Dietsch-Pool/Getty Images)

Now the Nebraska lawmaker has taken on some additional fellow Republicans. During a recent interview at the Atlantic Festival, he said that Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz weren’t serious adults.

Lumping the duo in with frequent target Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sasse said that he is regularly asked, “We want to know: what do you think about what Matt Gaetz said, about what AOC said, about what Marjorie Taylor Greene did.”

The senator continued, “And I don’t give a shit. Like the – in a republic, nobody should care about that. You just named three people who aren’t serious adults.”

Sasse closed, “They don’t actually have an agenda for 2030 America, and the reason I ran for re-election is because I’m worried about the future of work, the future of war, the first amendment culture in a world that moves to primarily digital rather than in-person public squares.”
