WATCH: Ben Carson Likens People Fighting For Racial Equality to Animals

During a Wednesday discussion about his recent op-ed piece on racism, Dr. Ben Carson said that people who fight for racial justice are like “animals.”

Carson was one of the odder fits in Donald Trump’s cabinet. He was rewarded his post as the Head of Housing and Urban Development as a thank you for supporting Trump’s campaign. His previous experience as a world renowned brain surgeon certainly didn’t qualify him for the job. And he did his best to decimate the opportunity for many people to live in fair and affordable housing.

Now out of a job, the Doctor recently wrote an article in the Washington Post where he argued that racial equality is another form of racism. He tried to explain his take during a Fox News interview.

He told Dana Perino, “You know, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spent a lot of time trying to get people to not look at external characteristics, which they cannot change and which they cannot help, and instead to look at the things that you can change and the things that you can help, such as your character, what kind of person are you.”

The Republican continued, “Shouldn’t we be be paying more attention to that than to external characteristics? You know, that’s what animals do. Animals, you know, base a lot of what they do on external characteristics because they don’t have the mental capacity to dissect further into what’s really important. We do. It just infuriates me when I see us acting so immaturely and we have so much more capacity.”
