Sacha Baron Cohen’s Showtime hit, ‘Who Is America’ has been filled with controversy over its first two weeks. The show has featured Cohen convincing a Georgia lawmaker to repeatedly scream the N-word and run around naked, while also convincing former Vice President Dick Cheney to sign a water board. With two episodes down, many viewers likely thought they’d be in for a letdown last night as the third episode in the series aired.
Well, they thought wrong! In last night’s episode of ‘Who is America,” Sacha Baron Cohen once again posed as an Israeli anti-terrorism expert named Col. Erran Morad, as he sat down for an interview with accused pedophile and former US Senate candidate Roy Moore.
Cohen quickly turned their conversation to a new Israeli technology capable of detecting an enzyme that is commonly secreted by pedophiles.
“Sex offenders and particularly pedophiles secrete an enzyme for DDHT, which is actually detectable. It is three times the level as non perverts so the phrase sweating like a rapist is actually based on science. So in Israel they’ve developed a machine that is used in schools to detect anyone coming in and if they detect the pedophile it alerts the law enforcement, Cohen’s character, Col. Erran Morad explained to Moore.
As Cohen waves the pedophile detecting machine close to the former Senate candidate, it repeatedly beeps, indicating that Moore is a perceived pedophile. Initially Moore sat there calmly, but after a few seconds he becomes noticeable agitated.
“I’ve been married for 33 years, I’ve never had an accusation of such things. If this is an instrument, then certainly I’m not a pedophile. I am simply cutting this conversation right now,” Moore tells Cohen, as he stands up and walks out of the interview.
