WATCH: Arizona Republican Wants To Put Colleagues “In Orange Jumpsuits” For Not Overturning 2020 Election

Following the 2020 election, Republicans were more than ever divided into two camps. One group was devoted to defending Donald Trump’s presidency, at all costs. The other group was…well, slightly less zealous. Slightly. Mike Pence, for instance, fell into the second group, by carrying out his Constitutional duty to certify the election. Now one Republican candidate wants all of her colleagues who, like Pence, carried out their lawful duty, regardless of personal feelings, criminally punished.

Kari Lake is running for Governor of Arizona, and she has Donald Trump’s endorsement. She’s also one of the more vocal conspiracy theorists running this year, constantly attacking the outcome of the 2020 election, insisting it was ‘stolen’ from Trump, and specifically attacking her own state for his loss there. In a new campaign ad, she declares that Republicans who allowed the 2020 election to be certified are spineless, and in fact, if she had her way, “they would be in orange jumpsuits.”

“President Trump shouldn’t even be here in Florida. He should be sitting in the White House right now. Unfortunately, spineless Republicans in Georgia and in my state of Arizona, allowed their own citizens’ vote to be absolutely tarnished…we must do everything in our power to make sure that these guys never hold office again. Actually, they would be in orange jumpsuits if I had it my way.”
RealClearPolitics current analysis shows Lake leading by about 11 points
