WATCH: Ari Melber Explains Why Alex Jones’ Big Loss Should Terrify The Lunatics At Fox News
Around 5 years ago, Alex Jones stood out for his conspiracy theorizing and outrageous takes. But today, he doesn’t seem all that unusual. In fact, Jones claims that Tucker Carlson said that the conspiracy theorist helped to open his eyes.
And Jones has been losing big over the last couple of years. He has been deplatformed from a number of different services. And this week, he lost in court, with a judge ruling for two Sandy Hook families who sued the InfoWars host. During his Friday night broadcast, Ari Melber told viewers that this should be a seen by Fox News hosts as a serious warning shot.
The MSNBC host explained:
“That action now and this ruling now is a reminder to other people out there who might want to do similar things or already have, it is a warning shot, for example, the right-wing news outlets like Newsmax and Fox News for defaming and lying about people or our voting systems fanning the flames of conspiracy that have led many to lean into violence in the insurrection. Free speech protects many, many things. It does protect objectionable ideas. It does not protect malicious defamation or acts which directly incite violence.”
