Last night not only marked the end of 2021, it also marked the end of Bill Di Blasio’s 8 year run as Mayor of New York City. And while he was re-elected by nearly 40% in 2017, he was never a popular lawmaker.
At the end of his term, the Democrat only had an approval rating of 37%. For a city that’s overwhelmingly blue, that is a shockingly low number. During last night’s New Years’ Eve celebration, Andy Cohen ripped into Di Blasio, noting it’s a new day in New York.
The popular Bravo host told viewers:
“Just watching Mayor De Blasio doing his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York! The only thing that the Democrats and the Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been, so sayonara sucker! 2022! It’s a new year, and guess what? I have a feeling that I am going to be standing right here next year, and you know what I’m not going to be looking at? Dancing as the city comes apart!”
