WATCH: Alec Baldwin’s Trump Calls Into SNL’s Weekend Update

While most news channels are still broadcasting on a regular schedule, the same can’t be said of most network comedies. NBC’s Saturday Night Live was an exception last night as the long running favorite ran a virtual version of their show.

And the players were quick to give their take of President Donald Trump and his current performance during the COVID-19 crisis. Playing the President, Alec Baldwin called into Weekend Update to brag about his leadership during the pandemic.

“I’m happy to report, Colin, that America is now number one in the world for coronavirus,” said Trump. He continued, “Well, my approval rating is up, my TV ratings are through the roof and every night at 7 p.m. all of New York claps and cheers for the great job I’m doing.”

Host Michael Che asked for advice, “because it [the government guidelines] seems to be changing every 24 hours.”

That’s a nasty question, you’re very nasty,” Trump replied. “I’ve been consistent all along. I’ve always said it was a giant hoax that we should take seriously. Even though it was invented by the Democrats. Impeachment part two. Everyone needs to wash their hands, or not.” He then advised Americans to listen to the “experts”: Sean Hannity, Jared Kushner and the MyPillow guy.”
