WATCH: Alan Dershowitz Questions Bernie Sanders Judaism and Says Israel/Palestine Conflict Getting Worse Because Facebook Banned Trump

The conflict between Israel and Palestine is incredibly complex. So when the United States involves itself into the situation, it has to be done with a fair amount of nuance.

This week, Bernie Sanders wrote a New York Times op-ed about the conflict. And while the Vermont senator said that Israel has a right to defend itself, he also noted that Palestine does as well.

Alan Dershowitz made an appearance on Newsmax on Friday. The network already had to suspend on anchor earlier this week for anti-Semitic comments. But they were happy to talk about the Sanders piece with the lawyer.

“You can be a Jew and an anti-Semite,” opined Dershowitz. “Bernie Sanders, who’s Jewish, is a self-hating Jew, a self-hating Jew who is willing to see Israel be defeated militarily by a terrorist group because he’s on the hard left and he has to follow the hard left.”

Somehow, the lawyer also insinuated that the conflict is becoming worse because Facebook banned Donald Trump. “When Twitter keeps those up after taking down Trump, it’s basically saying, ‘We think that’s the truth… because if it wasn’t the truth we’d have to take it down the way we took down Trump.’ Inadvertently, you get the social media supporting Hamas, the New York Times supporting Hamas and it sends a very powerful message. Do it again. Kill children, kill civilians.”
