WATCH: After Years of Criticism, Fox & Friends Effusively Praises Intelligence Community
Over the last week, Democrats have criticized Donald Trump for carrying out the Qasem Soleimani killing without congressional approval. Republicans have countered by saying that the operation needed to be done this way as intelligence showed that an Iranian threat was imminent.
Fox and Friends had plenty to say about the knocks from Democrats during their Monday morning broadcasts. The hosts, specifically Ainsley Earhardt had hearty praise for the intelligence community and claimed that Liberals should show more respect.
Donald Trump has often used Fox and Friends to rail against what he calls, The Deep State. In a November appearance on the show, he said of the FBI, “They were spying on my campaign and it went right up to the top and everybody knows it and now we’re going to find out.”
The President continued, “This was an overthrow attempt at the presidency. They tried to overthrow the presidency. This is a disgrace.”
When it comes to Soleimani, though, Earhardt says that the intelligence community had it right. She said it was, “so interesting that people are critical of the president’s decisions, of our intelligence community’s decisions, our general’s decisions.”
The host continued, “I’m sure if we are taking out a bad guy, we are ready. We are the most powerful force in the world. We’re not going to take out this terrorist, this dangerous guy without having a plan. You have to trust our military leaders helping the president, sitting in his administration.”
