WATCH: Adam Kinzinger Says Evidence Shows “Level Of Criminal Involvement By A President”

Will Donald Trump ever be prosecuted for his efforts to subvert the will of the American people and overturn the 2020 election? That’s the question the nation is waiting to see answered, and the question that will answer whether American democracy is at great risk for another such attack in the near future.

Only the U.S. Justice Department can truly give an answer, and they’re being incredibly tight-lipped, with no real leaks throughout their investigation of the events of January 6th, 2021. So far, the most information the DOJ has given about potential prosecution of the former president is that Attorney General Merrick Garland has assured the public that nobody is exempt from consequences because of their political power.

Adam Kinzinger, of course, as a Member of Congress, cannot speak for the DOJ, but he explains that he does believe the House Select Committee has brought sufficient evidence to show criminal involvement by Donald Trump.

See his response below on ABC‘s This Week.

“What we can do from the committee’s perspective is show, as we have so far, for instance, the pressure that was coming down on Mike Pence, and how the president knew what he was doing…What can the Department of Justice do in a court of law? That’s up to them…I certainly think the President is guilty of knowing what he did, seditious conspiracy, being involved in these different segments of pressuring, DOJ, Vice President, etc…I think what we’re presenting before the American people would definitely rise to a level of criminal involvement by a president, and definitely failure of the oath.”
