Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Blasts Republican Lawmakers

For the last 7 or 8 years, the Golden State Warriors have been maybe the NBA’s best team. They are also among the league’s most progressive. Star players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been more than willing to speak out on social issues.

But the most progressive member of the Warrior’s organization is probably the Head Coach, Steve Kerr. Kerr was at is again over the weekend, as he ripped into Republican senators for their efforts to avoid hearing from witnesses in the Trump Impeachment trial.

The Warriors coach delivered his comments via Twitter. He wrote on Friday, “75% of all Americans want to see witnesses in the impeachment trial. Over 90% of us want simple background checks for people purchasing guns. We are getting neither. The Senate is not representing the people. The term ‘civil servant’ does not apply to those who refuse to serve.”

This isn’t the first time that Kerr has waded into political waters. When asked about Trump’s comments regarding Colin Kaepernick, he replied, “This is another reason why all of us on our team have a tough time with the president, because instead of unifying and trying to calm the storm, he’s creating it, over and over again.”
