Tucker Carlson has a history of making very incendiary comments during his Fox News show. Advertisers have taken notice and the host has lost a number of prominent sponsors over the last year and a half.
Thanks to his high ratings, though, Carlson remains perched in his prime time show for the network. On Tuesday, DNC Vice Chair Michael Blake ignored a host’s question and asked why Carlson still has a job at Fox News.
Blake was appearing on a news show with host Bill Hemmer. He had been invited onto the network to discuss Carlson’s claim that Michelle Obama would be the 2020 Democratic nominee.
But when asked about the possibility, Blake answered, “She is not running. But the core question is why the hell does Tucker Carlson still have a job here in the first place? The reality is this is someone who said white supremacy is a hoax and why does Fox allow him to still be here in the first place?”
Hemmer ignored the comments by the guest and again asked about the possibility of a Michelle Obama run. “Not gonna happen,” Blake answered and continued, “But I think the core question is he shouldn’t be on here at all.”
A now irritated host told Blake, “We didn’t bring you on to talk about Tucker Carlson but to talk about the Democratic field.” After more back and forth, he said, “I didn’t bring you on to bash our network.”
