While New Jersey congressman Jeff Van Drew could be considered a moderate Democrat, no one expected that he would have left the party. But Van Drew made the decision official this week and will not be a Republican lawmaker.

The Representative from New Jersey’s 2nd district appeared on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss his recent move. During the interview, he gushed over Fox News saying that it is everything news media should be about.
The lawmaker wasn’t pushed into his glowing review of the network. The host simply began the conversation, “Congressman, it is a pleasure to see you.”
Van Drew then told Bartiromo:
“It is a pleasure to be with you and as I was saying before, I am so proud to be associated with you.You truly represent what news media should be about and just how to conduct a show like this. I’m very, very proud of you and the work that you do and the objectivity that you have. So thank you.”
A tickled Bartiromo responded, “Congressman, that means the world to me in this environment of media today. I’m grateful and I so appreciate your comments.”
The sentiments from Van Drew are similar to the ones he gave to President Donald Trump. The now Republican congressman offered the President “undying support”. He said, “I believe that this is just a better fit for me. This is who I am.”
