US Senate Candidate Brings Top PizzaGate Conspirator on Campaign Trail
With Arizona Senator Jeff Flake retiring in November, his crucial Senate seat is up for grabs. And with the primary just eight days away it has become ‘do or die’ for the Republican contenders.
While Rep. Martha McSally is currently in the lead, her lead has shrunk considerably from 14 points to just 8, as her fiercest competitor, Kelly Ward looks to turn the tide.
One would expect Ward to surround herself with well-known Republicans to shrink this gap, but instead she has turned to a well-known conspiracy theorists in Mike Cernovich.
Cernovich, who is quite active on Twitter, also happens to be one of the top promoters of the 2016 Pizzagate conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton, a pizza shop and child sex trafficking. The conspiracy took on a life of its own, resulting in violent threats made to the shop’s owners and a man firing a gun into the restaurant. Cernovich also claimed in 2003 that his divorce was ruined by “feminist indoctrination”.
“I don’t really know what Mike Cernovich’s views are,” Kelli Ward told MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt. “Mike Cernovich has an audience that we want to reach, and that includes Republicans, conservatives, liberals, Democrats, people of all ilks.”

Perhaps Cernovich’s social media following and his ability to lure conspiracy theorists will help Ward pull ahead in the primary, but in doing so, she is greatly risking her chances in November’s general election.
