U.S. Capitol Security Increasing Ahead Of QAnon March 4 “Real” Inauguration Day

Ever since Joe Biden was inaugurated on Jan. 20, believers of the totally fictitious QAnon conspiracy theory have been counting down the days to March 4. That’s because they really and truly believe that on that day twice-impeached former president Donald Trump once again will be sworn in as president.

The March 4 fantasy is based on the belief of a sovereign citizens movement, which holds that the U.S. government was ended and the country was established as a corporation in 1871. QAnon believers have pledged to gather in Washington for Trump’s second inauguration.

The acting sergeant at arms for the House of Representatives, Timothy Blodgett, sent a message to members of Congress on Monday that his office and Capitol Police are monitoring information related to any potential protests on March 4th, “which some have described as the ‘true Inauguration Day.'”

“As a precaution, and to support the safety and security of Members and staff, the USCP will have additional personnel posted throughout Capitol Grounds,” the message said. “Additionally, the National Guard continues to maintain a presence on Capitol grounds to support the USCP with maintaining an increased security posture.”

Blodgett’s warning appears to be an effort by Capitol security from repeating the mistakes that led to the Jan. 6 insurrectionist riot. His message noted that “the significance of this date has reportedly declined” and there is no indication that groups will travel to the District to protest or commit acts of violence.”

If QAnon folks don’t flood into Washington it will be a huge disappointment to Trump. His struggling Trump International Hotel there had been hoping to cash in by tripling room rates for stays beginning March 3 through March 5 to $1,495 per night.
