Twitter Users Stage Blackout to Protest Musk-Trump "Interview" [COMMENTARY]

[EDIT: the Space finally began over an hour after it was scheduled and had 100 attendees at press time sharing a whole lot of lies from both Musk and Trump]

Twitter users staged a one-hour blackout on Monday from 8 to 9 PM EDT to protest Elon Musk's "interview" with Donald Trump, but technically issues plagued the tech billionaire's attempts to show off how tech-savvy he isn't.

Calling his failure "a malicious attack" because, like Trump, he can't take responsibility for screwing up in front of a global audience, Musk vowed to find out who "sabotaged" the event.

YOU DID, ELON! PAY YOUR BILLS!

The AP reported that 878,000 users were left hanging for over 40 minutes while connected to the conversation, but no interview was being broadcast. Many users received a message reading, “Details not available.”

Trump’s team posted that the “interview on X is being overwhelmed with listeners logging in.”

Suuuure.

PAY YOUR BILLS, ELON!

Musk, who has been flip-flopping about his political loyalties for a while had already given millions of dollars to his campaign and now he couldn't even deliver an hour of free global campaign advertising.

In return, Trump started tweeting again, which is something he swore he'd never do again, and had even promised the investors of his own failing social media app, Truth Social.

Trump, break a promise? Shocker, I know.

The lyingest liar in the history of lying, Trump is really bad at being truthful. So we decided to block him like he blocks those of us who tell the truth about him.

Add that to Elon's AmericaPAC, which is illegally harvesting voter registration information and funneling it directly to the Trump campaign.

I don't know if anyone still works at the FEC, but now would be a great time to arrest Elon Musk for breaking campaign finance laws. He's also might be breaching the Digital Services Act (DSA) along with committing election interference.

But sure, go ahead and have a sit-down with a fellow lover of law-breaking, I'm sure it would've been a fascinating conversation filled with nothing but both of them sharing conspiracies wrapped in lies while bragging about how much money they both have.

An hour might not seem like a big deal, but tell that to the advertisers losing millions every hour, especially when Twitter has been overrun by white supremacists and their friends.

One thing's for sure: even if they reschedule, they won't be talking about this.
