Twitter Considering Labeling Trump Tweets That Violate Their Terms of Service

Social networking site, Twitter, has banned multiple conservative provocateurs from using its services. Alex Jones, Jacob Wohl and Laura Loomer have all gotten the boot for violating the site’s terms and conditions.

One figure who has not been banned from the site, however is Donald Trump. The president frequently violates Twitter’s rules, but the website has not banned him due to the newsworthiness of his tweets. As a compromise, the website is considering labeling Trump tweets that violate their terms.

Twitter head of legal, Vijaya Gadde, told the Washington Post:

“One of the things we’re working really closely on with our product and engineering folks is, ‘How can we label that?’ How can we put some context around it so people are aware that that content is actually a violation of our rules and it is serving a particular purpose in remaining on the platform.”

One of the Twitter rules Trump has violated concerns making threats over the service. In January of 2018, the president tweeted, “North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!

Trump has also come under fire for retweeting anti-Muslim videos. In November of 2017, he retweeted multiple doctored videos that claimed to show Muslim violence against non-Muslims. The original poster of the videos, Jayda Fransen, has been banned from Twitter.
