Tucker Carlson Says Stephen Breyer Was Forced to Retire From SCOTUS Because He’s White [VIDEO]

Supreme Court Justices, the most powerful people in America, serve until the end of their lives. They can, however, choose to retire before that happens. And those retirements have become increasingly politicized.

WASHINGTON, DC – FEBRUARY 17: Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer speaks during an event at the Library of Congress for the 2022 Supreme Court Fellows Program hosted by the Law Library of Congress on February 17, 2022 in Washington, DC. Justice Breyer, who announced he will be retiring on January 27, 2022, has served on the court since 1994. His retirement creates an opportunity for President Joe Biden, who has promised to nominate a Black woman for his first pick to the highest court in the country. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was criticized for not retiring while Barack Obama was still in office. Her death allowed Republicans to push an extremist candidate through in Amy Coney Barrett. Anthony Kennedy, a Conservative-leaning justice, retired when Donald Trump was in office and was replaced with Brett Kavanaugh.

Stephen Breyer, a Liberal-leaning judge, decided to retire while Joe Biden was in office and was replaced by Ketanji Brown Jackson. But Tucker Carlson doesn’t think that the justice retired by choice. The Fox News host believes Breyer was pushed out because he is white.

Carlson told viewers on Tuesday night:

“Look, I don’t agree with Stephen Breyer but I think he’s smart and I think he’s interesting. You know, he’s an American who got the job legitimately. He shouldn’t be forced out with a leak because people don’t like his skin color. That happened in very much the same way this did, and no one did anything about it or really noticed it.”
