Trump’s Morning Twitter Meltdown, Blasted For Voter Suppression Attempt
Many people are accusing President Trump of attempting voter suppression on Monday. Trump let off a flurry of tweets this morning that included a link to a far-right website. The website includes a video of AG Barr saying that voting by mail “absolutely opens the floodgates to fraud.” This claim has been deemed false on many occasions.

President Trump added his own two cents saying, “This will be the Election disaster of our time. Mail-In Ballots will lead to a RIGGED ELECTION!” Trump went on to make the false claim that foreign countries were creating “millions” of ballots to be mailed in which would rig the election. Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and Utah are the only states that are vote by mail only. Other states offer voting by mail as an option. There is no evidence of voter fraud.
Some Twitter users acknowledged the safeguards in place to prevent fraud. Andrew Feinberg tweeted, “FACT CHECK: Absentee/mail-in ballots are printed with bar codes for tracking. CONTEXT ALERT: @realDonaldTrump is the only candidate for president who has repeatedly solicited foreign assistance for his re-election campaign.” Richard Stengel accused Trump of lying. He tweeted, ‘EVERY WORD OF THIS IS A LIE.”
Some just pointed out that Trump knows he is losing. One user tweeted, ‘I guess Trump realizes now there’s no way he’s going to win. Funny that he declares foreign intervention to affect the election the “scandal of our times,” though.”
It would seem that after a disastrous Tulsa rally and other PR missteps Trump is in need of good press. It appears that these tweets did not do the job.
