This week, Americans began getting vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Over the course of a few months, it is hoped that enough people will get inoculated to completely wipe the pandemic out. Until that time, though, Doctors are recommending people wear face masks and practice social distancing.

To a number of Conservatives though, asking them to wear masks is somehow an attack on their personal freedoms. And some of these people have reacted by holding mask burning demonstrations. Newsmax host Grant Stinchfield is comparing these “patriots” to the ones from the Boston Tea Party.
The host told his audience:
“So today is December 16th, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. In 1773, the Sons of Liberty, frustrated and angry at Britain for its over-taxation and flat out tyranny, planned what could be dubbed the greatest act of rebellion and defiance in American history. They stormed Griffen’s Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts, and dumped 342 chests of tea – tea that was imported by the British East India Company. They dumped it straight into the Boston harbor. In that moment, on that day, Americans declared enough is enough. We will no longer take your tyranny.”
Stinchfield continued, “Today across the country, there are small groups of people who plan on displaying their own act of defiance by burning their masks. We have seen mask burning protests pop up over the course of the past few months, and it reminded me of the Boston Tea Party as angry Americans, being oppressed by nonsensical lockdowns and mandates fuel their fire of rage with their masks.”
