Trump Wants Congress to Investigate Obama’s Netflix/Book Deals

Barack Obama has always been an important part of the story of Donald Trump and his political career. Trump began his foray into politics, of course, by pushing the conspiracy theory that the 44th president was not born in the United States.

And, throughout the 2 1/2 years of his presidency, Obama has never strayed too far from Donald Trump’s mind. While complaining about the Mueller investigation Monday morning, the President suggested that congress should investigate book and Netflix deals made by the former President.

The Obama’s received a $65 million book deal from Random House in 2017. The couple also inked a deal to provide content for the streaming service, Netflix.

Both deals were on Trump’s mind as he raged against congress. He tweeted this morning, “House Judiciary has given up on the Mueller Report, sadly for them after two years and $40,000,000 spent – ZERO COLLUSION, ZERO OBSTRUCTION. So they say, OK, lets look at everything else, and all of the deals that “Trump” has done over his lifetime. But it doesn’t work that way.”

The President continued, “I have a better idea. Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal. Then look at all the deals made by the Dems in Congress, the “Congressional Slush Fund,” and lastly the IG Reports. Take a look at them. Those investigations would be over FAST!”

While the Obama’s received large advances for their biographies it was seemingly a smart deal for Random House. Michelle’s memoir, Becoming, is on track to be one of the best selling autobiographies of all time.
