Trump: The Media Orchestrated The Coronavirus Shutdown To Hurt Me

While the nation and world deal with a global pandemic, President Donald Trump is once again making things all about himself — namely, his shot at another four years in the White House.

Ever since he was forced to stop calling the COVID-19 outbreak some kind of Democratic “hoax,” Trump has been a scandalous purveyor of false information about the state of things. His latest is saying that the nationwide shutdown we all find ourselves in is not necessary.

In fact, in his opinion, the media is behind the whole thing with just one goal: to hurt his chances of reelection.

Trump took to his favorite social media platform, Twitter, to complain that the economy should be reopened immediately. Of course, this is understandable, because presidents who go into a reelection year with an economic catastrophe have significantly reduced chances of getting back into power for another term. There is nothing like this grinding coronavirus halt to stop the economy cold and plummet the markets, as we have already seen.

Trump, however, cares not about science, doctors’ recommendations, or, apparently, the American peoples’ lives. That is what he should be thinking about, but no: It is only what the poor economy (that is a result of this deadly global pandemic) will do to him personally and politically. T

he tweet reads like a batsh!t blame game that only Trump could put into a single tweet:

That’s typical Trump for you, though. Our only hope is that Anthony Fauci and other doctors, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, can stop Trump from doing something even more dangerous than he already has in his own self-interest.
