Trump Tells Reporters: I Should Be Dead

After surviving a shooting attempt this weekend, Donald Trump told reporters that he should be dead right now.

Information about the shooting, conducted by a 20-year-old registered Republican, is still coming out. But Trump will be eager to use the attempt on his life to push himself as a political candidate and is sure to be a common topic at the looming Republican National Convention.

Trump spoke with the New York Post's Michael Goodwin on Sunday night, telling him, "The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this, he called it a miracle. I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead. I’m supposed to be dead."

The former President continued by saying that doctor noted that he'd never seen someone survive after being hit with a bullet from an AR-15. As the AR-15 is the most popular weapon used in mass shootings, many, many Americans have survived being shot by one.

Trump also noted that he has a new lease on life and he vowed to make a unifying speech at the upcoming RNC event. "I had all prepared an extremely tough speech, really good, all about the corrupt, horrible administration," he said. "But I threw it away. I want to try to unite our country. But I don’t know if that’s possible. People are very divided.”
