Trump Rips Cindy McCain Following Her Joe Biden Endorsement
During the Democratic National Convention, Cindy McCain made a surprise appearance to talk about her relationship with Joe Biden. At the time, she said that this wasn’t necessarily an endorsement, but that she wanted people to know what kind of person Biden was.
Last night, however, the widow of late senator John McCain gave Biden her full-throated endorsement. This, unsurprisingly, upset Donald Trump who took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to blast McCain.
The widow of the senator has been given little choice in the matter. In early September, the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg listed out more ways that Donald Trump has slandered her war hero husband.
Last night, Cindy McCain tweeted, “My husband John lived by a code: country first. We are Republicans, yes, but Americans foremost. There’s only one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation, and that is Joe Biden. Joe and I don’t always agree on the issues, and I know he and John certainly had some passionate arguments, but he is a good and honest man. He will lead us with dignity.”

Trump was quick to attack the widow this morning. He tweeted, “I hardly know Cindy McCain other than having put her on a Committee at her husband’s request. Joe Biden was John McCain’s lapdog. So many BAD decisions on Endless Wars & the V.A., which I brought from a horror show to HIGH APPROVAL. Never a fan of John. Cindy can have Sleepy Joe!”
