While several Republicans have joined the 2024 primary, none of them seem to pose too much of a threat to Donald Trump. Ron DeSantis would be the most worrisome opponent, but he has repeatedly faltered on a national stage.
His opposition may not be able to take him out, but Trump is facing legal problems all over the country. And these legal problems could lead to him failing to secure the Republican nomination.
Yesterday, CNN reported on audio of Trump speaking about the classified document scandal. The former President responded to the damning evidence on Truth Social, writing:
"Just like the Democrat inspired Fake Dossier, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the “No Collusion” Mueller Report, and so much else, the illegally leaked, by the DOJ, FBI, and Special “Prosecutor,” Document story is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt of all time and, like all of the others, Fake News! I did nothing wrong, they did, and have been doing so for a long time. GREAT POLL NUMBERS - ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!"
Trump knows that Jack Smith is getting close to an indictment and is clearly feeling the heat. Unfortunately for him, he has no way to stop the trouble coming.
