Donald Trump is not yet in a place where he can admit that he just lost an election. His delusion has been made much easier by the fact that almost no Republicans are willing to publicly congratulate Joe Biden. The only GOP senators who have done so are Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Ben Sasse.

But slowly but surely, some cracks are starting to show in the veneer. On Monday, Trump’s National Security Adviser was on with Hallie Jackson. He told the MSNBC host that it is likely that Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States.
O’Brien told the Jackson, “We may have policy disagreements, but, look, if the Biden-Harris ticket is determined to be the winner, and, you know, obviously, things look that way now, we’ll have a very professional transition from the national security council.”
The National Security Adviser continued, “And the great thing is, this is the United States of America. We’ve passed the baton and had peaceful, successful transitions, even in the most contentious periods.”

Shortly after, reporter Ken Dilanian appeared on the show and told Jackson, “O’Brien is saying clearly, it looks like Trump lost the election. Joe Biden won. He’s promising a smooth transition. He even said, quote, the Biden team is going to have very professional folks who are coming in to take these positions. Many of whom have been here before.”
