Trump May Spend Rest of Lame Duck Period at Mar-A-Lago While WH Gets Deep Clean

Even as he continues to protest the election results, Donald Trump keeps acting like someone who knows he’s lost the election. Despite traveling to Georgia under the guise of supporting Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, Trump’s rally in Valdosta may very well be the final public appearance of his beleaguered four-year term as he used it to whine and complain about himself.

Trump reportedly has floated the idea of skipping Joe Biden’s inauguration and holding a political rally at the same time in Florida, which is why his former personal fixer Michael Cohen is saying that the lame duck will most likely travel to his Mar-A-Lago property in Florida and simply never return to Washington.

It’s probably a good thing that Trump is evacuating the White House, which has essentially become one giant petri dish. It’s not clear what level of cleaning will need to be performed inside the building, where multiple Trump administration officials β€” including Trump himself, his wife, and many top advisors including Rudy Giuliani β€” have been infected with the novel coronavirus

Hundreds of people are expected at the White House for a series of holiday parties and receptions this month, despite an alarming spike in COVID-19 cases across the country. No mention was made of whether the White House will undergo a deep cleaning when those events are over, roughly a month before Inauguration Day.

But Twitter certainly is advocating for a full cleansing.
