During a recent interview with Maria Bartiromo, Donald Trump said Mark Zuckerberg called after the assassination attempt to tell him how amazing and brave he was.
As one of the richest people on the planet and the owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg can have an outsized influence on American politics. The billionaire usually tries to stay neutral when it comes to politics, though he did ban Trump from his website after the former President incited an insurrection.
In a July interview, Zuckerberg said that he was not going to be heavily involved in the election but praised Trump's response to the attempt on his life, saying, "At some level as an American, it’s hard to not, like, get kind of emotional about that spirit and that fight. And I think that’s why a lot of people like the guy."
And during a Fox appearance last night, Trump said that he's been in contact with the billionaire, saying, "So Mark Zuckerberg called me. First of all, he called me a few times. He called me after the event and he said, 'That was really amazing, it was very brave.' And he actually announced he's not gonna support a Democrat because he can't because he respected me for what I did that day."
