Trump Makes a Number of Errors While Trying to Insult Rep. Conor Lamb

Donald Trump has recently been making Twitter endorsements for a number of Republican congressional candidates. The support largely reads like a form letter. These candidates like Trump, they’ll protect the 2nd Amendment, they want to build a wall, etc.

For some reason, though, while endorsing congressional candidate Sean Parnell, Trump decided to rip into his opponent, Rep. Conor Lamb. While doing so, Trump made a number of errors which included spelling Lamb’s name wrong and falsely claiming that he supported Nancy Pelosi.

Lamb is one of the most moderate Liberals in all of congress. He was able to capture a seat in Pennsylvania district that went for Trump by 11% in 2016. He first won a 2018 special election, and then in a full election later that year.

Replying to a message from Lamb’s likely 2020 opponent, Sean Parnell, Trump wrote, “Sean Parnell is an American Hero. Connor Lamm has proven to be an American fraud, and a puppet for Crazy Nancy Pelosi. He said he would NOT vote for her for Speaker, and did. Will kill 2A. Voted to impeach (on nothing). A TOTAL & COMPLETE Sean Parnell Endorsement!”

The first mistake was the obvious misspelling of Lamb’s pretty common last name.

Trump also claimed that Lamb was a supporter of Nancy Pelosi. The congressman notably pledged not to vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of House if he was elected. He said after voting against her, “I believe we need new leadership to put the partisan gridlock behind us, and I promised my constituents I would vote for new leadership. That’s what I did today, and what I’ll do on the floor.”
