Sarah Huckabee Sanders had a short, but memorable tenure as the White House Press Secretary. The Arkansas native served in the position for 2 years from 2017 to 2019. She was fiercely loyal to the President and frequently sparred with the White House Press Corps.

Sanders now works as a commentator for the Fox News Networks and is also writing a book about her experiences. In the upcoming book, she relays a story where North Korea’s Kim Jong Un hit on her. According to Sanders, Trump joed that she should “take one for the team.”
The story comes via an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, Speaking for Myself. The former Press Secretary remembers, “[I began] to notice Kim staring at me. We made direct eye contact and Kim nodded and appeared to wink at me. I was stunned. I quickly looked down and continued taking notes. … All I could think was, ‘What just happened? Surely Kim Jong Un did not just mark me!?”

According to Sanders, both Trump and then Chief of Staff John Kelly both found the situation hilarious. The President told her, “Kim Jong Un hit on you! He did! He f*cking hit on you!” Huckabee Sanders recalls that Trump later said, “Well, Sarah, that settles it. You’re going to North Korea and taking one for the team! Your husband and kids will miss you, but you’ll be a hero to your country!”
