Taking a break from urging Americans to ingest a deleterious drug he unshockingly has a financial stake in, our boss baby president just gutted the panel of federal watchdogs overseeing the implementation of the $2 trillion coronavirus law, allowing him to indiscriminately dump funds to all of his scumbag friends.
A panel of inspectors general chose Glenn Fine — the acting Pentagon watchdog — to oversee the group tasked with monitoring the coronavirus relief effort. Having an authoritarian tempter tantrum, Trump fired Fine on Monday and named the EPA inspector general to serve as the temporary Pentagon watchdog in addition to his other responsibilities.
“Mr. Fine is no longer on the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee,” Dwrena Allen, a spokeswoman for the Pentagon inspector general’s office, confirmed. She added that Fine will return to his Senate-confirmed post as principal deputy inspector general of the Pentagon.
The removal of Fine is yet another instance of an unhinged mafioso president who loathes the rule of law. In fact, Trump is now taking shots at his Health and Human Services Inspector general Christi Grimm after a report surfaced describing a lack of testing preparation at our nation’s hospitals.
“Another Fake Dossier!” Trump tweeted, citing Grimm’s tenure as inspector general during the Obama administration. What the sociopathic ignoramus failed to mention is the fact that Grimm has been serving as watchdog since 1999.
Republicans have taken notice but have mostly offered subtle criticisms of their overlord’s actions on inspector generals. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York), however, tore apart Trump’s “corrupt action”, saying he’s trying to sideline “honest and independent public servants because they are willing to speak truth to power and because he is so clearly afraid of strong oversight.”
This all begs the question: how many times does this a-hole want to be impeached?
