Trump Goes in on Democratic Senator Joe Manchin who Voted for his Removal

Joe Manchin sits in a really tough spot. The Democratic senator often upsets the left when he votes with the Republican party. For example, Manchin, in 2018, was the lone Democratic senator to approve the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

In the senator’s defense, the state he serves is overwhelmingly red and Trump won West Virginia in 2016 by 42 points. The President has come to expect a vote from the Democratic senator and on Friday, slammed Manchin for voting to remove him from office.

The President used Twitter to mock the West Virginia lawmaker. He wrote, “I was very surprised & disappointed that Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted against me on the Democrat’s totally partisan Impeachment Hoax.”

Trump continued, ” No President has done more for the great people of West Virginia than me (Pensions), and that will always continue. Every Republican Senator except Romney, many highly religious people, all very smart, voted against the Impeachment Hoax. Senator Capito was all in (a great person). I was told by many that Manchin was just a puppet for Schumer & Pelosi. That’s all he is!”

Manchin, who often has to walk a political tightrope, has yet to respond to the criticisms from the President.
