Trump Family’s January 6th Testimony Is Coming To You, On Video: Report

Donald Trump Jr. has testified before the January 6th Committee about the events leading up to that day, and his father’s role in them. So has Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner. Now, the American people may hear that testimony.

According to CNN, the January 6th Committee is finalizing their witness list for public hearings expected to begin next month. They’re already contacting witnesses whose testimony they believe should be seen by the public.

That’s not all — they also plan to publicly present some of the interviews they’ve carried out behind closed doors, via video. These could include testimony from Donald Trump’s own family, in addition to hundreds of other interviews they’ve already conducted.

Witnesses who say they expect to testify publicly include Trump Administration members and White House officials, as well as people involved in the planning of rallies that day.

As previously reported, Trump himself says that he tried to talk Jared and Ivanka into refusing to give testimony.

While it’s not known — yet — exactly what any of the Trump family members said to the Congressional Committee, a Vanity Fair report from last month shared that Ivanka’s testimony, in particular, had been described by Liz Cheney (R-WY), the Committee’s vice chair, as “helpful.” Jared’s testimony had also been described as “valuable,” although he was not present at the White House or Capitol Building that day.

Donald Trump has railed at the January 6th Committee, expressing anger that they continued to investigate his role in the efforts to overturn the election.
