In a new interview with Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump said that education today largely consists of children being taught about transgender people.
Donald Trump may have five children of his own, but it is pretty clear that the man has never been to a back-to-school night. When the Republican candidate begins to talk about education, things can get a little wild.
During a recent conversation with Kellyanne Conway, Trump was asked about his support for disbanding the Department of Education. Trump attempted to explain, "We're going to move education back to the states where they can run their educational programs, and they'll do great. And you take states like Iowa and Idaho and so many, they'll have great education."
Despite blue states having significantly better education numbers than red ones, Trump continued, "But we have to get out of this Washington thing. Half the buildings in Washington are occupied by education. And you'll have to get through it. But we're going to move it back to the states so that all these states, Indiana, you know, the states that are really well run, they're going to have phenomenal education."

Trump then claimed, "We want reading, writing and arithmetic. Right now, you have mostly transgender. Everything's transgender. Some of these school programs I looked at the other night, they're destroying our country. So education is exciting."
