Trump Doesn’t Think There Should be Impeachment Hearings While He’s Out of Town

Donald Trump spends an awful lot of time outside of Washington DC. The President has frequently attended politically rallies both for himself and his allies. He also spends a significant amount of time at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

The President has also made it no secret that he would like to see the current impeachment inquiry come to an end. This Saturday he tweeted a new reason why hearings on matter shouldn’t be held; because he’ll be out of town attending NATO conferences in London.

The inquiry has moved onto its next steps as the House Judiciary Committee will hold meetings on its findings. Of course, they body still hopes to interview more people. One of the people they hope will consent is Donald Trump.

House Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler recently said, “At base, the President has a choice to make: he can take this opportunity to be represented in the impeachment hearings, or he can stop complaining about the process.

From the President’s comments today, though, he doesn’t seem likely to take part in the process. He tweeted on Saturday, “I will be representing our Country in London at NATO, while the Democrats are holding the most ridiculous Impeachment hearings in history. Read the Transcripts, NOTHING was done or said wrong! The Radical Left is undercutting our Country. Hearings scheduled on same dates as NATO!”

Democrats are unlikely to be swayed by the President’s arguments. The House Judiciary Committee is set to hold its first hearing at 10:00 AM on Wednesday.
