Trump Claims He ‘Did NOT Know” About Trump Tower Meeting, Suggests Cohen is Trying to Get Out of His Taxi Jam

Late last night, a story broke that President Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, was prepared to tell the Special Counsel’s office that he was witness to Donald Trump’s approval of the infamous meeting at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016. If Cohen’s claims are accurate, that would mean that Mr. Trump approved a meeting between a known Russian agent and multiple campaign officials, who his son, Donald Trump Jr., had set up in order to ‘get dirt’ on Hillary Clinton. Such knowledge and approval of this meeting would be quite troublesome for the President’s defense and narrative that there was ‘no collusion’.

Early this morning President Trump fought back on Twitter with a simple, yet strong message:

“And so the Fake News doesn’t waste my time with dumb questions, NO, I did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don jr. Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam (Taxi cabs maybe?). He even retained Bill and Crooked Hillary’s lawyer. Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!”

One of the major questions investigators and political pundits have had, is whether or not Trump knew about this meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Russian agent Natalia Veselnitskaya and several others. While Cohen has not provided evidence to back up his claims, he did reportedly say that several other individuals were there when Trump was informed of the meeting and approved it. If any of these other witnesses are willing to testify to such, then Trump’s drive to discredit Michael Cohen will likely fail in the long run.
