Trump Campaign Is Now Suing Individual Citizens Over Election Results

Donald Trump’s campaign has sued in several states to try to change the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. Now they’re suing individuals, targeting electors in Nevada. One of these electors, a homeless veteran who was selected to serve as an elector for the Democratic Party.

Gabrielle D’Ayr is one of the individuals who was selected to cast one of Nevada’s six electoral votes for Joe Biden if he won the state — which he did. She says she didn’t know she was named as a defendant in the Trump campaign’s lawsuit until she was contacted by the media. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the suit doesn’t name state or county election officials as defendants — instead it targets electors.

D’Ayr, one of the defendants, has spoken out a little about her role here, saying that she’s a homeless veteran trying to do her duty to her state and nation by serving as an elector, and that Trump is targeting her despite claiming to be a supporter of veterans. She’s also shared that Joe Biden’s campaign is providing legal defense to the electors named in the suit.

She says she won’t be offering any more information to the press however, on advice of legal counsel.

The Review-Journal article linked above notes that legal representation for the president’s campaign has still not provided any evidence for their claims, which have already been rejected in state and federal courts, including claims of votes being cast on behalf of dead people, and claims that Dominion machines changed votes or in some other way assisted in fraud.
