Trump: Bolton’s Mistakes Could Have Led to World War 6

Donald Trump and the Republicans in the senate have worked hard to try and bar any witnesses from testifying in the impeachment trial. That has become much more difficult thanks to John Bolton. According to a report from the Wall St. Journal, Mitch McConnell does not have the Republican votes to stop witness testimonies.

The President, clearly irate by this news, took to Twitter Wednesday morning to slam his former National Security Adviser. During his tirade, Trump claimed that if he listened to Bolton’s advice, it may have led to World War 6.

Trump wrote:

“For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, “begged” me for a non Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying “Don’t do it, sir,” takes the job, mistakenly says “Libyan Model” on T.V., and many more mistakes of judgement, gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?”

Trump surrogates have also appeared on the Fox Network to deflect from the Bolton controversy. This morning, Georgia congressman Doug Collins said, “No matter what happened, the president did nothing wrong. … So there’s nothing here to do.”
