Trump Supporter Who Voted Twice Pleads Guilty To Voter Fraud
56-year-old Iowa resident Terri Lynn Rote has pled guilty to voter fraud. The Donald Trump supporter has admitted in court that she voted for President Trump two times during the 2016 election.
Rote cast a ballot during early voting in Polk County and then tried to cast a second vote at another location, which prompted her arrest.
The voter claimed she believed a second vote for needed because her original vote for Trump was going to be illegally changed to support Hillary Clinton. She noted that Trump warned of massive election “rigging.”
Rote’s attorney claimed she suffered from “mental deficits” that should have kept her from standing trial.
Donald Trump told voters in Ohio that if he lost the election he may have pursued an investigation to delegitimize a Hillary Clinton victory.
A“I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters, and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election — if I win,” Trump said.
Rote’s lawyer is aiming for two years probation and community service. She could face up to 5 years in prison under U.S. Election laws.
