Trump Accuses Lester Holt of ‘Fudging’ The Interview Where Trump May Have Admitted to Obstructing Justice
You may recall an interview that took place back in May of 2017 between President Donald Trump and NBC’s Lester Holt.
In that interview, Trump told Holt, “but regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey knowing there was no good time to do it. And in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself — I said, you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story. It’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.”
This interview leads some to believe that Trump’s actions of firing Comey could be viewed as obstruction of justice. Trump knows this and has been trying to brush it off for over a year. Now, however, he appears to be changing the entire narrative. This time he is saying that the interview was “fudged”.
Just moments ago Trump tweeted:
What’s going on at
@CNN is happening, to different degrees, at other networks – with @NBCNews being the worst. The good news is that Andy Lack(y) is about to be fired(?) for incompetence, and much worse. When Lester Holt got caught fudging my tape on Russia, they were hurt badly!
Trump didn’t say what about the infamous interview was “fudged” leaving it up to us to guess exactly what he is talking about. With that said, however, we can be fairly certain that Lester Holt is not NBC’s video editor, thus if anything was fudged — which there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever of — it probably wasn’t Lester Holt who would have done it.
